Yes, I DO love Annie Sloan Chalk paint! It’s seriously the best thing ever made for impatient people who can’t afford new furniture and want to quickly get a fresh look to a boring item! I am so excited! This stuff is SUPER easy to use, no prime, no sand (except distressing), no fumes, dries SUPER fast! SO…. I was able to do one piece (start to finish) in one-two days! (did I mention this is great for impatient people) 🙂
The whole set was done in four days! CRAZY!
This bedroom furniture is 40 years old and was handed down to us when we got married by my hubby’s parents. We were so grateful to have a full set. But, overtime grew tired of that old dark wood look. However, we never felt it was worth it to fork out tons of money to buy a new set. After all, they really don’t make solid wood pieces like this anymore.
Here are the before pics.
forgot to take a real before pic!!! (so here’s a during pic of the armoire) |
Also, over the years we lost hardware so our finished products will be a mix of old and new hardware!
I also distressed it more than my hutch because it is older, and I wanted to retain the character and the look of an old aged piece!
And …..now for the reveal!
I love how it just instantly brightens the room and reflects the light and ushers in a fresh feeling of newness!!!! (all with a can of paint and wax!!!)
FYI: here is a helpful link that has been a wonderful resource in learning how to use this wonderful paint!!!
Did I mention how easy it is!
Looks great!! Where do you get the chalk paint?
Oh! I really love this and going to do same as… Thanks for sharing this ideas… You did great job.
