9 Months home…(SLLOOOWWW down my baby!!!)

She can climb the rock wall!

So much growth in just nine months. We are always saying that it’s like she’s gone from a newborn to a little preschooler in less than a year (as I sniff and hold back my tears). What’s in that Pediasure, anyways???

SLOOOOOOOW down sweet one!!!!

This little girly girl acts like she is 2 going on 12! She cracks us up! But, really…she is so determined and amazing! All she wants to do is keep up with her beloved siblings, whom we lovingly refer to as “her possy” (her crew, her homies, her entourage) 🙂

Here are some shots taken the first month she was home…..She was already gripping so tightly to them that first month!

She looks so little here….and wearing her bib!!!!

and here she is 9 months later and in FULL bloom!
 Can you believe the changes??

She can pump her own legs in the swing….bye bye baby swing. 🙁

In fact, her “possy” is proving to be her Best. Teachers. Ever! Boy, is she SO LOVED!

and my goodness!!! She just loves the oooodles out of those sweet siblings of hers.

It’s a beautiful dynamic to observe…all the squishing she does on her “homies”  just makes my heart skip a beat!!

Let’s just say that one of her favorite things to do is “anything her siblings are doing” ;)…especially scootering! She taught herself in one day, simply by watching them!

(yes, I  know….BAD mommy moment: WHERE are their helmets?? )

And let’s not forget another favorite activity of hers……the “trampo-YEEN”!

Oh my!!!

This girl can flip and jump like nobody’s business!! Isabella has taught her some amazing gymnastics tricks!
It’s so much fun to just watch her. I used to get nervous, but not anymore. She is so agile!

I tell her all the time that we’ll see her in the 2020 olympics! 😉

Crazy….I know!!! LOL

But, by far, the most beautiful way she has bloomed has been in her relationship with her daddy. To think that there was a time, a very difficult time when daddy was kept at a distance.

this was a hard time for daddy…..

That awful time when she was scared of this tall bald guy who kept kissing on her and wouldn’t go away, but yet would feed her these amazing sweet candies 😉

A guy who wanted nothing more than to smother her with all his un-restrained love that had been building up for over a year.
Yet….he waited to win her heart. a slow process that took an unbelievable amount of faith and patience.

A long, hard wait.

But, Tahlia…his precious, and dearly longed-for daughter, was absolutely

Worth. The. Wait.

 and now…
her heart has been won over!

….oh how she adores him.

No one and I mean no one can get a giggle like her daddy! He just has this WAY with her (just as he has with all our babies), that no one else has!!

It’s very unique and special.

That unbelievable way to just get her to giggle her head off, even when she is upset!!

He has a remarkable gift that certainly comes in handy, especially when she is upset for some sad reason.

He can get her from the point where she is balling her eyes out and red-faced…. to the widest grin with the  loudest and cutest  belly giggles ever, within seconds!

Well, its just so darn beautiful!

She is still  a mommy’s girl at heart, and will always be….it’s just how she is wired.

And, I love that about her, even though it can be hard and smothering at times. 😉

But, make no mistake!  She has let her daddy delve deep into her heart of hearts.

She has reserved a special place in that soulful heart of hers, just for him….and, no one else fits that unique and set-apart spot except for her treasured daddy.

and there are mornings when she just

Won’t.  Let.  Go……

Sweet mercy! Melts us like butter each time.

Thanking the Lord for answered prayers and for the past nine months. It’s certainly had it’s ups AND downs, fOOOOR SUUUUUUURE! And, I know we have many more ups and downs to face for sure!

But, We’ve come so very far by God’s strength and grace.

And, we are so grateful for the blessing of Tahlia!

I could just squeeze the stuffin’ out of this little Tolly-pop of mine!

  1. Amazing isn't it?! And slow down is right…Frances has lost her “baby face” and has turned into a little girl in just 9 months!! I love watching Tahlia's progress and cannot believe we will be home for a year in just a few short months with these precious girls!! Oh and I love those Daddy pictures, precious!!

  2. Oh my goodness. She has gotten big when you put the pics like that. She looks like a big girl. Her smile melt your heart. 🙂 Mia is having a harder time with Daddy too, but he too is being patient with her. I can't believe she is scootering…………Mia is not near that yet. LOL Even though she is developing lovely she is still probably not on a 2 year old level. You are so good I need to get my pics up and do a 6 month post. 🙂 Have a Great Weekend. Oh and I want to know how you are so fun and fit all the fun stuff in your homeschool day.

  3. Love seeing her blossom in these photos!! Wish we lived closer to each other. She and Brielle would be such good buddies!

  4. I just loved this post and everything you said about how your babe is getting loved on and loving back every member of your family. So heartwarming and beautiful. Congrats on 9 months as a family of 7!!
