Blessing the Boys: Part 2 (Bedroom makeover)

We are on a ROLL!

So, as part of our “room decorating/makeover series”….we decided to paint the boys’ room. THIS was NO easy undertaking…..and even though the boys knew what we’d be doing, they were surprised at the final reveal! They didn’t know that mommy and daddy had gotten them new bedding, curtains and moved their furniture around!!

The room was in DIRE need of being re-done. I think it was time to say goodbye to the old WALLY, CARS and SPORTS triple theme we had going on! It was SO dark, and always felt like night in that room. And they had LONG out grown the “awesome” HOT WHEELS wall border and fire walls (yes, I did that fire design, and it was SO cool when they were younger 😉 ) ** of course, while painting those cool colors, one never REALLY considers how hard those colors will be to cover one day….ahem!

SO, first we DE-CLUTTERED!!! Ugh, these boys are pack-rats! 🙂

the boys took part in prepping the room. They peeled ALL the border off! They were so excited!

Daddy slaved away all day Saturday painting 3 coats of paint to cover up all the BOLD colors!

Then it was DONE!!! We went for a clean, simple and  uncluttered look.

The best part was that we had kept the boys out of their room all day, and when it was finally….. ready……

 Their faces were priceless!

We had SO much fun watching our boys walk into their new space! It was such a stark contrast to what it had looked like before.

They said it felt like they were on vacation in a hotel! ha!! LOL

AFTER:

And, it felt SO much bigger!

I am sure, by tomorrow, they will have it very “LIVED IN”!!!! And, they will, in no time, get all their personality covering the walls….but for now, it’s so nice to have a clean, fresh look!

They love it!

It was so wonderful to be able to bless them!
