In this house we celebrate what we consider to be a HUGE milestone in an emerging reader’s life. We celebrate when a child has finished their first “chapter book” all by themselves. This is huge for Ethan and boy was he proud! We were all proud, especially mom, who has snuggled many a days on the couch with him mastering his phonics. This certainly is a moment to celebrate! Go Ethan!!!!! I can still remember the same excitement that Isabella and the family felt when she finished the same book. There is just something wonderful about turning that last page in Dick and Jane. Ethan has already gotten started on his next chapter book : Biscuit’s Storybook.
