“GET YOUR ICE OLD LEMONADE!!!!”

Well, it was a scorcher of a day (90+ degrees) but that didn’t stop the kids from having a “long awaited” lemonade stand! It all started when daddy brought home a surprise from work!! It was a HUGE water cooler (you know, the orange one that says GATORADE on the side). So, the planning began! All the kids got into it. Ethan was in charge of entertainment by working the boom box. Helaina and Ashton were just cute props to lore in cars:-). Michaela was spending the night. So, she and Isabella stayed up late making posters and planning how they will get the most for their money! The price was originally set at .50 cents a cup, till mommy had to talk them down to .25 cents (thinking they would get more responses). So, the gazebo and signs went up and they perfected their “lemonade call” with arms waving and voices yelling. Oh, you should have seen the excitement when that first car pulled up. It was as if they were seeing Santa Claus! I gotta tell ya, that we have some awesome neighbors who kept the kids’ business afloat! And when all was said and done, they had brought in $23.00 and change! They decided as a family that they would donate it to the local animal shelter. So, in the car we went on Mon. and they got to hand deliver the donation themselves. They even got to take a peak at the animals that they were helping. All in all, I would say that it was a success and sweet memory! I will end the story with Ethan’s quote, “mom, when we do it again, can we keep some money this time??” 🙂
