She’s 10 years old. Only a little girl for a little while longer…..though, I will hold on to the “little” in this girl as long as I possibly can.
And with my oldest girl who just turned 13, I have been recently sobered as to just HOW fast they outgrow the “little” girl in themselves(sniff).
But, there’s nothing like a beautiful and enchanted Garden Fairy Party to bring out the “little girl” in all of us.
And, that’s one of the reasons I poured so much love and energy and time and thought into this party…
not only because I loved every moment of it…..
(and I really did, despite the lack of sleep and neglected laundry piles) 🙂
But, mainly because she may not ever want this kind of party again…..this may be the last year she loves fairies and enchantments. I am holding on tight, savoring these moments…..before they are gone.
Though, my prayer is that she may never lose her love for all things enchanted and whimsical.
Time goes too fast, I wanted to celebrate the “little” in this newly-turned “double-digit” girl! I am in no rush to grow her up.
So, since she adores fairies, it only made sense to throw her a wonderful Fairy Party! And, this would be
her first slumber party! She was so excited! 🙂
So, I must share in detail all the wonderful enchantments that we got to do that night!
 It was truly memorable!
And, I loved seeing these sweet girls’ beautiful smiles and delight! They lit up my house with their passion, creativity and excitement!
First, as they arrived, they got to make their garden fairy crowns, and their ribbon twirlers!
Then, they designed and painted their “fairy houses” which would be placed in their special and enchanted secret fairy gardens that we made
we just had to make “secret fairy gardens.”
I love gardens…especially in cold, grey winters! I was so excited about these!!
I was SO SO glad Nana could be there with us!! It was so nice to have her help!!!! | Â Love her! |
Then, they got to pick their secret fairy name (names we chose from online lists), and make up their special gift/power. Then they had to go around and try and remember each friend’s fairy name. The winner got a special treasure box filled with goodies!
Then they got to get special enchanted fairy makeovers from Isabella and cousin Michaela,…..
to prepare for a special photo-shoot with the birthday girl.
They got to take home a special framed picture of themselves with the birthday girl.
Nana got to be a fairy too! 🙂 |
Next, it was time to make their enchanted fairy dust bath salts….
First, they got to pour the enchanted sparkles into the salt, and choose their color, and mix!
Then it was time to smell all the essential oils and pick their favorite scent!
This was fun!
Then, they added the salts to their fancy jars! (thank you dollar store)
Ok, now it was time to take a dance and pizza break….cause even enchanted garden fairies need to eat and cut lose for a little while! 😉
Now, it was time for the one activity that Helaina had been asking about since she joined Pinterest months ago. She had been BEGGING to do “the fairies in a jar!”
And, since this sweet girl loves all things glowy and bright, this activity was PERFECT to do!
And…besides glow sticks juice getting everywhere (thank God for non-toxic)..it was so so easy!
Just a jar, glow sticks, and sparkles and shake!
Then, it was time for cupcakes and lemonade (fairy berry juice)
What an honor and privilege to get to be her momma….and to get to have these special, beautiful and sweet girls in my home to celebrate our beautiful 10 yo daughter.
I loved every moment of it.
Thankful for such special and precious memories.
I am so grateful, and so blessed to be able to hold on to the “little” in my sweet girl for as long as I can….and I will keep holdin’ on to this fleeting stage very very tightly!
She will always be my little girl.Â
