We (along with Nana and Pop-pop) just became proud owners of a beautiful mare named Cricket! She is 5 years old and is a “Belgian/quarter horse cross” (basically her mom was a Belgian and her dad was a Quarter Horse). She is chestnut in color and has a flaxen mane and tail(had to be blond to be in this family;-)! She is 15.3 hands tall (that is the measurement for horses, each hand =4 inches) and she weighs in at 1300lbs!!! She is a big girl, but a gentle giant (did you see her previous owners doing tricks on her ). She was used as a lesson horse on her old farm, and she has a wonderful calm nature! I will post more after Sat. when she will be delivered to the ranch where we are boarding her. So, as you can see….this family is in for some major horse-business!!! Needless to say, we are very excited and this is a dream come true! We will post updates and more pics, of course!
