It’s hard for me to believe that my baby girl is already ready for Kindergarten. Well, to tell you the truth,(according to her) she was ready last year! But, why rush it?
She has been waiting all summer to be “officially” doing Kindergarten work. I am excited as well to be going through our third round of My Father’s World Kindergarten. I have tweaked this curriculum so much over the years to accommodate our needs that it may even be unrecognizable from it’s original form. But, that’s the glory of sticking with something over time. You get to change it to serve “your” needs, instead of becoming a slave to the curriculum. The first week we focus on making a “creation book” and a “creation number line”.
This week is all about Helaina. I started her a week before the other children so I could just focus on her. She is loving the “one-on-one”! However, we do have a little tag-a-long, named Ashton, who Helaina has graciously allowed the privilege to share the spotlight. Ashton is currently working on his “shape book”.

Oh, how precious. And, that she’s so excited. I can’t believe she’s starting Kindergarten. Did I tell you Jack is starting pre-K this fall? I get choked up every time I think about it. But, he is SO excited to go to school. He asks me all the time, “Do I get to go to school yet?” Man-o-man it all goes by so quickly.
Oh girl! HOw sweet. We are going to begin on 8/25. We have done a little, but will really kick it in that week. I am nervous, but excited too!
