Well, my goal was to get a blog up and running this summer so our family and friends would be able to keep up with what’s going on in this busy and crazy household!
Let me start by writing that this is a place where I am going to be recording our homeschooling experiences, our family trips, accomplishments, and well….just ordinary stuff that makes us who we are :-).
This summer has been full and it is not even done yet! Isabella and Mommy and were featured in our first drama together called “Jailhouse Rock.” It is a children’s musical dedicated to sharing the gospel in a way that kids can fully understand. And the whole family got into it, even little Ashton could sing all the songs!
Also, let me tell you about our swimming pool triumphs! First, Isabella started the summer off forgetting how to swim, but soon enough she was back in her fish alter -ego! She is doing super and can swim the length of the pool! Now our Ethan, he has been very reliable on his swimmy wings, until recently! He decided that it was time to take them off, and before we knew it, there he was right in the deep end splashing and swimming away! And I can’t forget my Helaina, who started the summer off not even touching the big pool. We thought that we would be doomed to a summer of the dirty baby pool again! But, all it took was a day when the baby pool was even more dirty then usual, and all of a sudden, she said, “mom, dad…can I have my floaty, I want to come into the big pool with you! This is a BIG deal for her. She was paralyzed by fear before that! So, for a few weeks i would have her strapped to me in the pool…basically a leach. Well, last night she took off the ducky and realized that she could swim with army wings. Oh boy, was she cute! She was so proud. Well, that wasn’t all that happenned! Ashton is now able to swim with arm wings in the big pool! Yay! No more stinky baby pool this summer for us, woo-hoo!
So, as if that wasnt enough for the summer….Ethan learned to ride a two-wheeler and Helaina learned to ride her bike with training wheels. This has certainly been a summer of accomplishment and success! Praise God!

In your later years, you will look back and KNOW for sure that these were the most happy years of your life. Responsibility carries with it JOY and Happiness that will never come your way again to the extent that is does now. uncle Dennis
