Today was a very sad day in the CanneLongo household. We had to say goodbye to our dear pet (was the kid’s first pet). Butterscotch, our guinea pig, was like no other. She was always happy to be held, rocked, wrapped up a like a baby, pushed in a stroller, handfed, and cuddled (Helaina’s favorite thing to do with her). She was the best piggy ever and she will be dearly missed. All the kids were in tears, and boy do I mean tears! However, our little Helaina was the one who had a “special” bond with Butter and this has been especially hard for her. We told her that the reason she feels the saddest is because she had a love like no other for dear Butter. We did had a frosty party to celebrate Butter’s life and to help us feel better:-)! Butter gave us a lot of fun memories and there will never be another like her. Although….. Helaina is willing to try….she asked, “mommy can we get another one now??” hmmmmmm………Goodbye Butter, have fun in Piggy Heaven, you will be missed.
You guys sound like you are doing well in spite of your loss. Please give the kids a big hug from me and tell them I miss them. I am praying for you to have a great school year and for you to have continued patience!!!! Love you guys!– Connie
