In just one hour our shuttle will be here to take us on the Journey to China to receive our daughter. What a miracle! I am just so excited and nervous all rolled into one!!
Yes, I should be sleeping! But I am trying to just enjoy what will be my only quiet moments for the next month or so. Its just so peaceful….as I reflect with tired eyes and mind all God has done for HIS precious daughter, Gianna.
It’s gonna be a wild ride this next 3 weeks with no expectations….and no idea how to imagine it. I have learned to not expect anything in adoption. All is in HIS hands…..
and I am HOLDING and clinging to my God who promises NEVER to leave or forsake us.
My dear friend sent me a message today with three simple yet powerful reminders, and I promised myself I would claim these truths and repeat them to myself on a constant basis no matter what lies ahead!
1. God is in control. 2. God loves you. 3. You can trust Him
AWESOME reminders, and truths that never change with circumstance.
But, what it all comes down to is a little girl who needed a family and a family who needed a little girl. WE need each other because we were made for each other, ordained and predestined to be together. This is TRUTH.. and I am SO SO SO THANKFUL we did not miss this blessing, and grateful for this promise God spoke to our hearts to become a reality very soon!
ok, here’s what our three weeks will look like (short version). We covet your prayers for each day.
- Tuesday May 20 @2:30 am: shuttle comes to pick up our whole family to take to the airport
- Fly to San Francisco
- Fly to BJ, China
- Arrive in BJ on Wed, May 21 2:40 pm (China time) 2:40 am (US time)
- Lily (director of HH) will come and pick us up from the airport and drive us to our hotel in Langfang (2 hours from BJ) which will be right across the street from Harmony House (private run orphanage where Gianna lives) !!! SO AWESOME!
- We will hopefully have time to drop in to see Gianna before her bedtime (HOPING)!!!!
- Thur,May 22: play and serve at Harmony House all day, hand out gifts, bond with Gia, have a BLAST loving on the kiddies and babies and getting to know Gia’s nannies.
- Fri, May 23: 1/2 day tour BJ, 1/2 day play at Harmony House
- Sat, May 24: 1/2 day tour BJ, 1/2 day play at Harmony HOUSE!!!!!
- Sunday May 25: depart via speed train from Langfang to Gianna’s originating province of Shanxi and check into hotel
- Monday May 26: official GOTCHA DAY, we will get Gianna forever. Pray for her because that is also the day that she will say goodbye to her nannies (this will be very hard)
- Tues-Friday tour and hang out in Shanxi, while waiting for her passport to be completed
- Friday, May 30: take flight down south to Guangzhou, China to complete adoption paperwork
- while in GZ we will tour and enjoy the awesome sights while waiting for her medical and consulate appointments
- June 5: Consulate Appointment (Last step in adoption process)!! woohoo!
- June 7: depart from GZ via van to Hong Kong (2 hour ride)
- June 7- June 10: stay with good friends in HK till our flight out on June 10th
- arrive home afternoon of June 10th as a family of 8!! PRAISE GOD!

Looks like we're just a few steps behind you. We get into Gz on the 6th (garden hotel) for our daughter's medical appt on the 7th. (Found your blog through Joy in Colorado. We're with AAC). Safe travels to you!
Yeah, so surreal how all these months of praying have went by and it is finally here. WOW so surreal. Can't wait to hug your precious neck in China. Love and prayers for safe travels to China sweet Johanna and fam.
