To welcome Spring and to welcome Easter my fellow “green- thumbed” kids planted their own gardens! First, we kicked off our celebration with a book called “The Parable of the Lily”. This is an excellent book, on a child’s level of understanding, about learning the value of God’s gift to us in Jesus. Then they were off to paint their pots! I always love group art projects in this house, because each of my kid’s distinct personality comes shining through. Isabella did a face on her pot so the plant would look like hair. Helaina did pink and more pink:-)! Ethan did army colors, and my Ashton wanted mommy to help paint him a letter A on his pot.
They had a lot of fun, and they are just giddy each morning when they run downstairs to see how much each plant has grown! Hopefully by seeing the new life growing in their pots, it will be a reminder about God’s gift to each of them of forgiveness and everlasting life!
You are such an amazing Mom and teacher to your babies. It’s just awesome to see all that you’re doing with them and to see your heart shining through on your blog.
Oh Johanna….I thought I had you in my google reader, but alas I did not, and when I FINALLY clicked over to your blog this morning I see that I have missed SO many fun posts. >>What a fun art project. I’ll have to remember some of your ideas. :o)
