This morning in church was very special.
A group of beautiful children (including our wiggle worm,Tahlia, who our E is holding) stood up on stage and represented one of the biggest miracles of all: The miracle of adoption.
They represented the Father’s Love.
The children read some sobering statistics in regards to the plight of the orphan, and they read some powerful verses regarding the Father’s heart for the Orphan.
It was so exciting to see all those precious, gorgeous children standing together! What a miracle each one of them represents!
These are amazing children!!! I am so blessed to know them and be the mom of two of them up there!!
It is my prayer that 5 years from now, when we are celebrating yet another Orphan Awareness Month, that the amount of children on stage will triple as the church rises up even more in a revival to care for those who need it most!
Here’s the thing that I keep coming back to…
… if you understand what the Lord has done for you, then you need to pray about God giving you the desire to help with the overwhelming plight of the orphan…
1) you could use one of your many gifts or blessings to practically help a family bring home a precious waiting child.
2) you can support God’s work in caring for the orphan in one way shape or form (there are SO MANY valid OPPORTUNITIES and ministries to be a part of)
3) or you step out in faith and experience the most amazing miracles for yourself, the miracle of adoption.
And, I can’t tell you how much it touches my heart to see the younger generation just “GET THIS”, to catch the vision! We can learn so much from the unyielding, contagious, excitable faith of a child!
Reminds me of this verse:
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. (Tim 4:12)
both ministries hard at work selling after church! |
Very creative young ladies in our church are using their gifts and talents to do their part in helping the orphan, and selling their creations to raise money for their worthy causes. Please take the time to read more about their passions in their websites and click the links below to visit them and support their heart’s burden!

But still I am one.
I cannot do everything, but still I can do something.
And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to
do the something that I can do.”
~ Edward Everett Hale
Francis Chan said it best: This isn’t about us “rescuing the orphan”, it’s about realizing what “We’ve been rescued from” and WHO has rescued us! By the Grace of GOD we’ve been adopted into HIS Family. It’s about us being so moved in gratefulness of this powerful truth, that your heart is practically just going to explode with a fierce thankfulness and desire to obey HIS commandments and to pour out His love!
So, no….it’s not about us rescuing anyone.
ITS NOT ABOUT US!Â
ITS ABOUT HIM! It’s about HIS love, His desire, His heart, HIS CHILDREN in NEED!
It’s about the LORDÂ rescuing US from a place of complacency and passiveness and ignorance.
Our family was rescued from a “safe faith.” a faith that is too fearful to step out into the unknown. We were rescued from the life of never knowing the joy of adoption.
Had He not given us the courage to step out, we would have never seen HOW BIG GOD TRULY IS! Nor would we have ever had the huge blessing of being called our daughter’s parents. We are so blessed!
Yeah, its us who were absolutely rescued!
What a gift!
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12)
