thanksgiving, family, traditions, a WHIPPED CREAM AMBUSH!!

Almost complete….Missing Aunt Amy, Uncle Derek and cousin Sophia!! MISSED U all so much!!!!  : (

We are so fortunate to have the blessing of awesome grandmoms who both cook and bake on Thanksgiving Day!

 AND they BOTH live close!

So, each year we alternate which family’s side we will spend thanksgiving at!

This allows us to fully BE there instead of trying to eat and run and be at two places on one day.  It’s a great compromise!

This year we spent Thanksgiving at Brian’s parents.

(secret): We actually did have two Thanksgivings though….a couple days later we ate delicious left overs at my family’s side!
Playing Apples to Apples after a scrumptious dinner!

Like I said, we are so blessed! 🙂

Here are some pics and favorite memories from Thanksgiving Day of 2012 (Tahlia’s FIRST Thanksgiving)

and, what I love best about holidays are the traditions….

a favorite among the girls: Wahoo challenge with Grandma Pat

and….ummm….Don’t let the sweet photo fool you!

this game gets ugly…the competition is heavy!!!

And this is the famous “measure wall” where all the grand kids’ growth have been tracked yearly by Papa Buddy since before they could walk!
Tahlia loved getting in on the tradition!

Isabella is GROWING LIKE A WEED!!!! (WAHHHH!!!)

Another tradition:

Decorating the candy tree  with Grandma Pat, Tahlia LOVED taking part in this activity for the first time!

She really got into it!

I’d love to be able to tell you the candy tasted good…..but, not really. :p

AND …..the newest tradition …..(the grand kids were scheming…)

Luring “innocent and unknowing” Papa Buddy outside for a friendly game of volleyball

….ahem…

(but with other intentions in mind)

two “innocent bystanders”…(Ashy LOVES playing football with cousin ).
And then……
out of nowhere…
(edited by request of Isabella) : “he had it coming as a payback from his whipped cream attack! LOL
here comes the attack of the whipped Cream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(yeah, I was told ahead of time and was “camera-ready”!!!)
Poor Papa Buddy, had no idea it was coming….

He’s not going down easily though! ha!

But, he is such a great sport…..:)

Isn’t it great to be SO LOVED, Papa Buddy!
I must say, You taught these kids well! 🙂
I am so thankful that they are free to have fun with their Papa Buddy!

Ahhhhhh, the MEMORIES!

And, Another reason I am thankful is that we got yet another Thanksgiving with our dear Pop-Pop…

though it’s sadly our first Thanksgiving without his beloved mom- mom Tita…

…..Pop Pop Marty can still tell a good story!

 And our sweet Tahlia…..

wow….just look what a year does….

(this time last year, this is what she was doing)

She was enjoying a cake party that we had sent to her to be celebrated on Thanksgiving Day at her orphanage, and we were just weeks from coming to get her to be with us forever!

and…..

One year later…..

enjoying her first THANKSGIVING with her forever family…..

enjoying Every. LAST. DROP!

 ……I AM SO SO THANKFUL!
