Arrested By His LOVE

Arrested by His Love.

I would say that most adoptive families would agree that everyday feels like #WorldAdoptionDay…and every month is as if it is #NationalAdoptionMonth and every single Sunday, as we gather our tribe to worship the Lord in His House, and thank Him for the story that we could have never written ourselves… is #orphanSunday

You can’t shut most of us up, as we are passionate about loving the most vulnerable of this world. Many see us as crazy, get sick of our endless advocating, or even some say silly things like “wow, look what you have done…” And we cringe because it is not of us…. We are simply a flawed and imperfect picture of the unending and perfect Love that has chased down our own broken hearts.

We could have missed this LOVE. We could have missed seeing what God has done for us.It is GOD’s Love, and His rescue of our own deprived hearts that has overtaken us.

We are arrested by GOD’s LOVE.

It is as simple as that.

We love because HE FIRST LOVED US.

Our passion to advocate comes from a humble and overwhelming awareness of God’s love for the most vulnerable. So excuse us while we overflow this passion into our conversations, our social media, our photo feeds, our blogs and your ears. Because, we are now responsible for what we know, for the faces we have kissed across the world, for the tears we have wiped, for the hungry we have fed, for the halls of filled cribs we have walked…and we are responsible for the ones who now run around in our own family rooms, for their friends left behind, and for the knowledge that each face represent thousands of others who also need HOPE.

We can’t go on pretending to not know what we know and that reality haunts our hearts every day. We can’t go on with life as we know it after having touched, fed, and held the most vulnerable of this world and we would not want to… because we desire to be close to GOD and THIS IS WHERE HE RESIDES. You want to find God, then go to the most broken and marginalized… run to the hurting ones. That is where He lives. He is near the broken hearted. (psalm 34:18)

When we love, we know Him, and that is true JOY.

And that JOY propels us forward, and overtakes all we do and ultimately humbles us.Because we could have missed this love.. we could have missed this joy, these giggles, and we could have missed seeing God redeem these broken hearts… especially ours. We could have missed this sacred invitation to enter another’s story and hold their pain with them. His love binds up the broken and we have seen this miracle first hand.We are the ones who have been rescued.

God was not greedy or selfish when we needed His love most of all. He made his table extra long so we can dine with our KING of KINGS and enjoy HIS goodness and eternal love forever.

Adoption and orphan care are a picture of HIS love for us in action…. And once you have tasted and seen God’s Glorious LOVE, you have an insatiable hunger to see more of his glory and go BE that love!Everything else feels meaningless.

Loving others is what matters most.Let HIS love arrest your hearts today. There are many ways that you and your family can get involved in #orphancare and “adoption” is not the only way (but an awesome way).

You can support the fatherless, the poor and most vulnerable by sponsoring, learning, praying, serving, fostering, feeding and giving your time, gifts, money and resources and GOING… YES… go into all the world and SEE for yourself with your own eyes …and let your heart break for what breaks HIS. Go sit and hold the hearts of the most broken. There are also many incredible organizations that serve the vulnerable for the sake of #orphanprevention … these movements and missions are a force of light in the darkness!

Please Get involved and do not miss what really matters most in life. Please pm me for resources and ways to help! You can make a difference and bring HOPE to someone’s life through LOVE in action. I promise that “You” will be the one who is most blessed… because You will get to experience God’s Love like never before.Let this Love arrest you

.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another.

Just as I have loved you, so also you must love one another”
